Customer Terms of Service
These terms cover placing orders and using a customer account on OWNROUTE-powered restaurant ordering sites.
Last updated: July 26, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
These Customer Terms of Service ("Terms") explain the rules for using OWNROUTE-powered ordering sites and the OWNROUTE customer account service at own-route.com. By placing an order or creating an account, you agree to these Terms.
OWNROUTE is a service of UBANESE, LLC, a California limited liability company ("OWNROUTE," "we," "us").
2. What OWNROUTE Is — and Is Not
OWNROUTE provides the online ordering technology that independent restaurants use to sell directly to you. Each order you place is a purchase from the restaurant, not from OWNROUTE. The restaurant sets its menu, prices, and hours; prepares your food; and is responsible for food quality, safety, allergens, and order accuracy.
OWNROUTE operates the ordering and payment technology on the restaurant's behalf. We are not a restaurant, food preparer, or food seller.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or place an order.
4. Your Account
You can sign in with your email address using a sign-in link or a one-time code we email to you. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, and for activity that happens through your OWNROUTE account. Please keep your account information accurate. We may suspend or close accounts used in violation of these Terms.
5. Orders and Payment
When you place an order, you authorize the payment amount shown at checkout, including taxes and any delivery or service charges displayed. Payments are processed by Stripe directly to the restaurant's payment account. Your card may first be authorized and then charged when the restaurant accepts your order.
Prices, availability, and menu items are set by the restaurant and may change. Obvious pricing errors may be corrected, and the restaurant may cancel an affected order.
6. Delivery and Pickup
Restaurants may offer pickup, delivery, or both. Delivery may be fulfilled by third-party courier services. Delivery times shown are estimates. Please make sure your delivery address and contact details are accurate — the restaurant and courier rely on them.
7. Cancellations and Refunds
Because your purchase is from the restaurant, cancellation and refund decisions are made by the restaurant. If something is wrong with your order, contact the restaurant first using the contact details on its ordering site or in your order confirmation email. OWNROUTE may assist with payment processing for approved refunds.
8. Rewards, Offers, and Promotions
Where a restaurant offers a rewards or points program, points have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may be changed, expired, or discontinued as described in the offer. Promotions may have their own additional terms.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity; not to place fake orders; not to interfere with the operation or security of the service; and not to scrape or copy the service or its content.
10. Intellectual Property
The OWNROUTE name, software, and platform design are owned by OWNROUTE or its licensors. Restaurant names, menus, and images belong to the restaurants or their licensors. You may not copy, modify, or use them without permission except as allowed by law.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, OWNROUTE disclaims warranties of any kind, express, implied, or statutory. OWNROUTE does not guarantee that any restaurant's food, preparation, or delivery will meet your expectations; those are the restaurant's responsibility.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OWNROUTE will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to use of the service, and OWNROUTE's total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid through the service for the order giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless OWNROUTE from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Contact Us
Questions about these Terms can be sent to info@own-route.com. Questions about a specific order should go to the restaurant you ordered from.
