Customer Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in plain English, how OWNROUTE handles your information when you order from a restaurant's OWNROUTE-powered site.

Last updated: July 26, 2026

1. Introduction

This Customer Privacy Policy explains how OWNROUTE (a service of UBANESE, LLC) collects, uses, and shares information when you order from a restaurant's OWNROUTE-powered ordering site or use an OWNROUTE customer account at own-route.com.

This policy is separate from our website privacy policy for restaurant operators, which covers visits to www.own-route.com and audit requests.

If you have questions, contact us at info@own-route.com.

2. Two Parties Handle Your Information

When you order, two parties receive your information for different purposes:

  • The restaurant you order from receives your order details, name, contact details, and delivery address so it can prepare and fulfill your order, respond to your questions, and handle refunds. The restaurant is the seller of your order.
  • OWNROUTE operates the ordering technology on the restaurant's behalf: we run the ordering sites, process account sign-ins, send order emails, and maintain order records.

3. Information We Collect

Information you provide: your email address, name and phone number when provided with an order, delivery addresses, order contents and special instructions, and messages you send.

Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card number is entered directly with Stripe and is not stored on OWNROUTE systems. We receive limited payment details such as payment status and the last digits of your card.

Information collected automatically: device and browser information, pages viewed, and approximate location, used to operate and secure the service.

Rewards information: where a restaurant offers a rewards program, we keep track of your points balance and activity for that restaurant.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to process and deliver your orders, operate your account and sign-in, send order confirmations and service emails, support rewards programs where offered, prevent fraud and secure the service, comply with legal obligations, and improve the service.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information.

We share information with:

  • The restaurant you order from, so it can fulfill your order and serve you.
  • Service providers that help us run the service, such as Stripe (payments), hosting and database providers, email delivery providers, and delivery/courier partners where delivery is offered.
  • Legal and safety recipients, if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or services.

Restaurants and service providers handle information under their own policies and applicable agreements.

6. Cookies

We use cookies needed to run the service, such as a session cookie that keeps you signed in to your account. These are essential cookies. If analytics cookies are used, you can manage them through the cookie preferences shown on the site.

7. Emails

We send transactional emails about your orders and account (such as order confirmations and sign-in codes). Replies to order emails go to the restaurant you ordered from.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You can update your account details and delivery addresses in your account settings. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting info@own-route.com. We may need to verify your request, and we may keep information we are required to retain (for example, transaction records).

9. California Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law, California residents may have rights regarding their personal information, including the right to know, access, correct, delete, or limit certain uses of personal information, and the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact info@own-route.com.

10. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain business and transaction records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children's Privacy

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.

14. Contact Us

Privacy questions can be sent to info@own-route.com. Questions about a specific order should go to the restaurant you ordered from.
